Joy Ann Barnett, 90, died Sunday, March 22, 2009. She was born Feb. 17, 1919 in Carlisle, AR to Hamp Morris and Beula White Morris.
April 25, 1939, she was united in marriage to Harold Barnett.
Mrs. Joy was a lifetime member of the Nazarene Church of Caruthersville. She was an LPN and worked for Dr. Oliver Cook here in Caruthersville for many years. Throughout the years, Mrs. Joy touched countless lives in Caruthersville and the surrounding area. She will always be remembered for her dedication and devotion to the people of the Bootheel area.
Mrs. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barnett; a son, Larry Barnett; two brothers and three sisters.
She leaves a daughter, Denise Risner; two sons Mike Barnett and John Barnett; one sister, Clara; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Rev. Greg Watkins officiating. Burial was held in the Little Praire Cemetery in Caruthersville.
