BENJAMIN 'BENNIE' L. BENNETT

Services have been held for Benjamin ''Bennie'' L. Bennett, who died Feb. 18, 1996, in Bend at age 83.

Mr. Bennett was born Feb. 26, 1912, in Forest Grove. In 1937, he married Reva Wahl. He was a lumber puller, retiring in 1968. He lived in Portland from 1912 to 1950. He was a member of the Neighborhood Church of Christ in Sutherlin.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Jean Oberst of Bend, Shirley Strong of Canby and Dorothy Bethune of Oregon City; brothers, Francis of Corvallis and Charles of Atascadero, Calif.; sisters, Gertrude Jones of Albany and Mabel Klocko of Portland; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove. The family suggests remembrances to the church. Arrangements were by the Chapel of the Firs.
