Cyril B. "Bud" Barry, 84, Brainerd, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

He was born May 5, 1915, in Minneapolis to Harry and Margaret (Rakow) Barry. After graduating from high school, he graduated from the Dunwoody Institute with a business degree. He moved to the Brainerd and Nisswa area in the mid-1930s. He had worked for Meyers Cleaners, Woods Motors and the Iron Fireman. He also managed the Elks Lodge for many years. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #225 and the Disabled Veterans Association. He was also a member of Park United Methodist Church, Masonic Temple, Order of the Eastern Star, Shriners, Elks Lodge and the historical society.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; a daughter, Sharon Hill, Deer River; two sons, Richard Pratt and Jack Barry, both of Brainerd; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

His parents, a brother, Wesley, and a grandson died earlier.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Park United Methodist Church with Pastor Rory Swenson officiating. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post #255.

Friends may call at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today and at the church one hour before services Monday.

Memorials may be sent to Park United Methodist Church or for diabetes research.
