He married Ida Almon August 8, 1906 in Lawrence County, Alabama.

R.M. Montgomery Dies At Home Here

R. Miller Montgomery, well known local resident, died this morning at 4:20 o'clock at his residence, 651 Johnston street. He was 44 years of age and is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. T.W. Meadows of Decatur and Mrs. L.T. Bishop of Decatur; one son, Aaron Montgomery of Decatur; his father, Jack Montgomery, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at one o'clock at Westside Presbyterian church by Rev. E.L. Jones, assisted by Rev. S.P. Pryor, Rev. A.H. Manley and Rev. Liston. Interment will follow at Montgomery cemetery near Wren, Priest directing. The following will act as pallbearers; active -- L.B. Friend, F.B. Stewart, Walter Robertson, Murray Dickinson, J.M. Gillespie, J.A. Parker, Allen Rhinebart and Mason Pierce; honorary -- Members of the Woodmen of the World.
