Esther M. Eide, 97, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great and Great-Great Grandmother, entered eternal life on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Unity Hospital in Grafton, ND, with her family by her side.
Esther Marie Brodahl was born in Oak Park Township, Marshall County, Minnesota on September 8, 1916, the daughter of Gilbert and Mary (Bosman) Brodahl. Esther graduated from Oslo High School in 1934. She met her future husband, Wilbert Eide, also of Oslo, at a local barn dance. They were united in marriage on September 25, 1938, at the Zion Lutheran Church Parsonage and recently celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary. Esther's greatest joy in life was her family. She spent countless hours cooking and baking for them. Over the years, Esther and Wilbert enjoyed travelling to Norway, Florida, Arizona, and camping with family.
Survivors include her husband Wilbert, son Ronald Eide, McAllen, TX; daughter Colleen (Doug) Anderson, Oslo; son Terry Eide, Bemidji, MN; and son Donn Eide (fiancé, Stephanie Daley), Thief River Falls, MN; Grandchildren: Rhonda Tibert, Robin Feltman, Dawn Feltman, Terry Anderson, Gerri Anderson, Lynette Liesener, Corrie Uhlir, Tyler Eide, Christopher Eide, Darren Eide, and Trisha Finney; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter-in-law Opal Eide, siblings: John (Doris) Brodahl, Garfield and Milton Brodahl and sister, Margaret (Albert) Hendrickson; and grandson James Troy.
