Funeral for Earl Roger Cartee, 63, of Courtland will be Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Scotty Letson, Sam Wallace and C.G. Reding officiating.
Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cartee, who died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at his residence, was born Nov. 19, 1943, in Lawrence County to William and Ona Lee Cartee. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a carpenter working for the public for many years. He was a baseball coach and avid fan of his grandsons and granddaughters in all of their activities. Mr. Cartee loved doing all work needed for his church family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His brother, Carl Cartee, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Reding Cartee; one son, Roger Dale Cartee; one daughter, Dawn E. Sheffield; sister, Carrie Dunn; three grandsons, Luke Cartee and Dustin and Eric Sheffield; three stepgrandchildren, LaShae and Kaylee Shelton and Kayleigh Sheffield; and one great-granddaughter, Xzyla Cartee.
Pallbearers will be Jared Reding, Brad Reding, Wes Reding, Ran Reding, Donald Wayne Reding and Rodney Eskridge.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
Memorials may be made to the Courtland Baptist Church Building Fund.
