In Memory of W.G. Wilson.

Another landmark has been taken, William Gilmore Wilson was born in Loudoun County, Virginia, July 4, 1832, and died in Madison, Missouri, May 19, 1906, aged seventy-three years, ten months and fifteen days.

He came from Virginia to Missouri when quite young and settled in Shelby County. He went from there to Randolph County where he was highly esteemed, being surveyor for a number of years and filling other offices of honor and trust. He was married to Miss Julia Ann Sanders November 6, 1859. To this union seven children were born--Madam's Eugenia Holder, Annie Moore, Etta Key, Bertha Lenhart, and Monsieur's J.W., S.A., and J.L. Wilson. He lived to see all them grown and settled in life.

Sincerely do we extend our sympathy to these bereaved ones and to his beloved companion who has so faithfully stood by with loving hands were ready and willing to preform some duty for him. For years together they made the pilgrimage with hearts united in love and sympathy, but the parting is only for a time.

Bro. Wilson joined the Baptist church November 10, 1879 and was ever faithful. He was made a mason in 1966 and always had a great love for the order.

After services by his pastor, R.A. Jones, he was laid to rest at Oak Grove by his brother masons.
