OBITUARY IN HEBRON CHAMPION SEPT. 02, 1910
Willam S. Gove was born in New York State on the shore of Lake Champlain on May 26, 1829 and passed to his reward on Aug. 22, 1910. Aged 81 years, 2 months and 26 days. He was buried in the Antioch cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him to the better world nearly five years ago. The funeral sermon was preached by the Rev. Chas. Burns of Ohiowa. When he was 21 years of age, he emigrated to the frontier state of Illinois locating near Peoria. On Sept 7, 1858 he was married to Dianthia D. Bailey at Groveland, Tazewell Co. To this union was born five children four boys and one girl, two of which died in infancy. In 1869 they moved to Fairbury, Livingston Co. where they lived until 1880 when they came to Alexandria, Nebr., where he bought the farm on which he died. He leaves to mourn his loss one brother Edwin B. Gove of Benton, Illinois, one daughter Mary E. Wilkinson and two sons Ora. and George H. He was converted when about 24 years of age and united with the M.E. Church, of which he remained a faithful member until his death. His last years have been years of suffering and death was a welcome relief to him.
