Allie Bamie and Sallie Amie Baker, twin daughters of Wes and Mary E. Wallace Baker were very close to each other. Each married at the age of 15. They never kept secrets from one another until Sallie eloped on a horse and married Roy Hathcock. This hurt Allie, because Sallie hadn't told her. During their married life they usually lived near each other and often had the same illness. When Allie had a heart attack and went to the hospital, Sallie said she felt as if part of her had left. When Allie died, Sallie became despondent and mentioned that she did not feel she could live without Allie. Sallie suffered a stroke just 21 hours after the death of Allie, and they are laid to rest in the same grave at Shafter, Kern, California.
