Mary Frances Green
Mary Green Horseshoe Bend, Idaho went to be with her heavenly father on August 9th 2008 at St. Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho. Mary was born June 12, 1943 in Newberry S.C. only daughter of John and Dorothy Bessinger. She married Benjamin Green on Sept. 26, 1960. To this union they raised four beautiful children that continued to be her driving force till her last breath. Family was everything. Mary lived life creating and venturing into many various business. One of the most satisfying was becoming a hairstylist in 1972. This was following and operating Horseshoe Hair Benders until 1994. She was very active in the community volunteering her time in Ladies Club Hall, P.T.A, among many others. She was also instrumental in starting Headstart, and Western Ida Community Action Center in HSB. Mary's door was always open to friends and family. Her dynamic personality and loving spirit drew people to her. Some of the things she enjoyed most were her grandchildren, cats, crafting, and good food. She was quite the prankster. Mary is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ben; children, Deborah (Lonnie) Hill of Buhl, Idaho, Tim (Robin) Green, Julie Eldred, both of HSB, Susan Wilson, of Boise, and Shari Cook of Farnam Neb.; mother Dorothy Vito of Arlington, Texas; 16 grandchildren, nine and half great-grandchildren, and her dear friend Judith Wallace Peterson. Mary is preceded in death by her father John Bessinger and her best friend and co-pilot Joyce Bounds. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, Aug 15th, the celebrated day of the "Assumption of the Virgin Mary", at the Pioneer Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend. Services under the direction of Potter Funeral Chapel Emmett. Memorials may be sent to Ladies Club Hall, 105 West Boise Avenue, HSB, ID, 83629.
