Clarence Meroney 75, R. 1, died Thursday in LaGrange County Hospital. Born March 18, 1899, he was the son of William and Effie Nowels Meroney. He was married March 2, 1921 in Albion to Irma Damey. A lifetime resident of the Wawaka-Ligonier area, he was a retired employee of the Noble County Highway Dept. He was a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church and Eagles Lodge. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Leland, Ligonier, Donald, Defiance, Ohio, and James, Watertown, S.D.; four daughters, Mrs. Irvin (Janis) Lantzer and Mrs. Louise (Bonnie) Roberts, both of Kalkaska, Mich., Mrs. John (Marilyn) Hostetter, Wawaka, and Mrs. Roger (Jean) Feller, Stanwood, Mich.; two brothers, Floyd of Ligonier, and Ray of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Smith of Columbia City, and Mrs. William (Alta) Huff of Albion; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral Sunday in Ulrey Funeral Home in Ligonier. Burial, Oak Park Cemetery
