ROBERT M. BECKEL, age 74, an orchardist and resident of the Leavenworth -Peshastin area for the past 46 years died Thursday afternoon (April 4) at his home.

Mr. Beckel was born on February 18, 1900 at Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. He served in the US Army from 1922 until 1926, being stationed in Calif. Following his discharge he moved to Bellingham, and in 1928 he moved to file Wenatchee Valley, settling in Peshastin, where he was employed by the Peshastin Forest Products from 1933 until his retirement in 1966. He was a 31 year member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Lodge No. 244 and the Chumstick Grange No. 819 both in Leavenworth. The Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union, Peshastin Local No. 2841.

Mr. Beckel is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sunny Sue Cravens of Ethel, Wash., two step-daughters, Mrs. Ron (Patsy) Atkison of Mesa, Arizona and Mrs. Roy(Car-ol) McCulloch of Peshastin, two step-sons, Sherrill and Harold Valentine both of Peshastin, nine grand -children and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death fay his wife, Bonnie in 1968.

Funeral Services for ROBERT M. BECKEL, were conducted at 2 oclock Monday afternoon (April 8) in the Wards Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Richard Sprague officiating. Organist, Lay Ward accompanied, Mrs. Marydell Marson, who sang; Precious Memories, and Amazing Grace.

Pall Bearers were, Ted Kuch, Phil Brunton, Eddie Bickel, Jack Dempsey, Gib Nelson, and Paul Sanger. Concluding services and interment followed in the Peshastin Cemetery. Wards Funeral Chapel pt Leavenworth was in charge of the arrangements.
