Mr. Robert T Ford died at his home a few miles north of Ty Ty Tuesday night, March 29th about 12 o'clock, from cancer of the stomach. He was buried at Hickory Springs Wednesday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by Elder James Gibbs.
Mr. Ford was about 64 years of age, and was born at Isabella, in Worth county, where he spent his early manhood, and married his first wife. He served two terms as County School Commissioner of Worth and moved from Isabella to Ty Ty about 1882.
He was married three times, his first wife being Miss Sarah Sullivan. She bore him four children, Walter, Mrs. Gussie Caswell, Jack and Mrs. Alma Perry. His second wife was Miss Barzilla Young. To her two children were born, Martha and Robert. His third wife was Mrs. Datie Hutchinson, sister of his first wife. She, with the six children, survive him.
Mr. Ford had suffered with cancer for a long time and several months ago went to a sanitarium for treatment. He received no benefit, however, and for a long time knew that it was only a question of days with him.
He was the son of the late John A. Ford, of Isabella, a member of one of Worth's most prominent families. He owned valuable property adjoining the city limits of Sylvester, and before his death divided it among his children, giving each their portion.
The editor of the Gazette was one of his school pupils in the days long gone, and learns of his death with deep regret.
