Engstrand, Raymond E., 97, ret. electronics technician and Riverside Medical Center volunteer, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 with his family by his side. Born Oct. 3, 1911 to Swedish immigrant parents, Einar Axel and Hildur Matilda Engstrand. Preceded in death by his wife, Florence of 64 years in 1998; 1 sister and 4 brothers. His love of photography and painting remained in his heart along with his family and the Lord.

Survivors: sister, Marie (Len) Martian of Selah, Wash.; sons, Raymond D. (Millie) Engstrand of Baltimore, Md., Leon (Carolyn) Engstrand of Wichita; daughter, Ida L. Sherman of Greeley, Colo.; 6 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and his dearest friend, Evelyn Bliss of Wichita. Visitation with family 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday; service 1:30 p.m. Friday, both at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202, LakePoint Assisted Living, 1315 N. West St., Wichita, KS 67203.
