Utica - Mrs. G. Harriet Mahlmann, 70, 162 Hobart Street, widow of Nicholas F. Mahlmann, died yesterday afternoon in a local hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Germany, daughter of the late John and Wilhelmina Steurmer. Her girlhood was spent in Germany where she was educated by private tutors.
Shortly after her marriage to Mr. Mahlmann she came to this city. Her husband died about 40 years ago.
Mrs. Mahlmann was one of the eldest members of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was well known among the early German settlers here.
She leaves six children, Mrs. Thomas J. Williams, Otter Lake; Miss Elisabeth Mahlmann, Mrs. T. Day Coakley, Mrs. Frank H. Plumb, Chares C. and Harry C. Mahlmann, Utica; a brother, John Stuermer, Los Angeles; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Utica Daily Press, Tuesday, June 7, 1932
