Mrs Martha Jane Kreis, widow of M H Kreis, died at 3 pm Friday at her home, 716 South Sixth Street, after eight months illness with heart disease. She was 75. She was born October 1, 1865 in Muskingum County, the daughter of Willis and Susan Stiner Foster and was married on November 20, 1890 to M H Kreis, who died January 26, 1933. Surviving are seven children, W O and Virgil Kreis of this city, the Rev Bruce Kreis of Philo, Mrs Virgil Bell of Newark, Mrs Hobart Vinsel of Zanesville and Mrs Anna Sturtz of Coshocton, 14 grandchildren four sisters, Mrs Elma Edwards of Newark, Mrs Mary Hoppman of Marion, Mrs Lizzie Rice of Utica and Mrs Retta Barrett of Coshocton and three brothers Elmer Foster of Zanesville, Charles of Adamsville and Tilden of Dresden. Mrs Kreis was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church near Adamsville. Services will be held at the church in charge of the Rev L M Riggle of Coshocton Lutheran Church. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
