Joe Limper, Retired Farmer Dies; Funeral Saturday At St. Agnes
Joseph Limper, 84, a resident of Hillcrest at the south edge of Hillsboro in recent years and a retired farmer, died Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital last Thursday.
The remains are at Bass Funeral home, Hillsboro where rosary prayer service will be Friday at 8 p.m.. Funeral mass will be conducted Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic church by the pastor, the Rev. Leonard Rathgeb. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery at Coffeen.
Mr. Limper was born near Okawville Mar. 20, 1892 a son of Fred and Josephine (Summers) Limper. He was reared there and moved to the Coffeen-Hillsboro area as a young man. He and Tessie Kaburick of east of Hillsboro were married Feb. 20, 1917 at St. Louis.
They farmed in the same community for years and later west of Hillsboro before moving to the former Tony Cook place in Hillcrest.
Surviving him are his wife and two daughters, Myra, wife of Robert Sherer of Taylor Springs and Celeste, widow of Sidney Blankenship of Hillsboro. A daughter Lessie Otter died and they reared her son Robert who resides now at Joliet.
Also surviving are 15 grand-children and 12 great grand-children.
A son Fred Limper was killed in action during World War II.
Two members of his immediate family survive. They are a sister, Margaret Miller of Peoria and a brother John of St. Louis.
Sisters, Mary Brown and Katie Limper, a half-brother and half-sister Fred and Rosie Boas have died.
Mr. Limper was a member of St. Agnes church.
