Mary Evelyn Brown Fuqua, born in Andalusia, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home in Pensacola, FL, while surrounded by friends and relatives.
Evelyn retired from the Navy Comptroller's office, NAS Pensacola, FL after 36 years of service. After retirement, Evelyn spent her time fishing, traveling, and putting smiles on faces.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Fuqua; granddaughter, Rachel Fuqua; her mother, Vivian Doll; brother, Buddy Brown; and sister, Millie Cochran.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fuqua, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fuqua, both of Pensacola, FL; her very loving and caring adopted daughter and special friend, Paula (Bill) Dill; adopted granddaughter, Jennie Eisenhart; and four nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Funeral service were held at the Summerdale Church of Christ, Summerdale, AL on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at the Cedar Grove Church of Christ Cemetery in Andalusia, AL.
