Power's Mansion Inn was constructed in 1884 with the Power family's gold mining fortune that came from his Hidden Treasure Mine. This elegant Victorian home is now run as a bed-and-breakfast and wedding site.

In the year 1880 the gross receipts of the Hidden Treasure Mine were $114,168, of which there were paid for wages (largely to the owners themselves, who work in the mine), $46,564; contingent expenses, $10,358; dividens, $57,240.

The title to the ground is a patent from the Government of the United States, the present owners being William Cameron, M.H. Power, Harold T. Power, Henry M. Power, H. K. Develey, E. R. Guilford, R.M. Sparks, J.B. Harden, A.G. Fuller, L.P. Burnham, Thomas Reese, William Christy, Joshua W. Eggleston, Perter N. Juergensen, J.W. Byrd, and Lewis Ryder.

HAROLD THOMAS POWER

(Republican) was born at Damascus, Placer County, California, February 7, 1857; he was educated in the public schools of his native State, taking a commercial course in the Pacific Business College, San Francisco, afterward (1875-1880) associated with the Union Iron Works. From 1887 to 1910 was superintendent of Hidden Treasure and May Flower Gravel Mining companies, and Morning Star Mining Company, all of Placer County. Representative in the California Legislature, thirty-second session. Presidential Elector 1900. Trustee of California State Mining Bureau 1903-10. President Board of Trustees 1908-10.

Hon. H. T. Power and wife came down from Sunny South Wednesday. Mr. Power left for Towles on Thursday to look at some mining property in it's vicinity.
