"J.E. "JOE" ACRIDGE

Joseph Earl Acridge, 75, Route 4, Yates Center, Kan., died Monday [17 Nov 1986] at the Neosho Memorial Hospital at Yates Center. He was born July 17, 1911 at Fort Scott, the son of Fred L. and Mary L. Pyle Acridge. He married Ruth Stout Aug. 28, 1936 at Burlington, Kans. Mr. Acridge was a farmer. He was a member of the Woodson County Chapter of Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers and was well-known in this area.

Survivors include the wife, of the home; a daughter, Joan Drake, Yates Center; three brothers, William Acridge, Veneta, Ore.; Vern Acridge, Blue Hill, Neb.; and Donald Acridge, Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Mary Pitt, Yates Center; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday [22 Nov] at the Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center. Burial will be in Siria Cemetery, northwest of Yates Center. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the Campbell Funeral Home, 310 W. Rutledge, Yates Center, Kan. 66783."
