Vernon Russell, 71, of Etowah died Friday September 17, 1999 at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Willie Dene Russell of Etowah, a daughter, Patricia Cheryl Russell of Nokomia, FL, two stepdaughters: Denise Regina Bowman of Jonesboro, AR; and Patricia Franklin of Memphis, TN; two sons: Charles Vernon Russell of Lepanto, AR; and Franklin Eugene Russell of Jonesboro, AR; two stepsons: James Allen Cunningham of Collierville, TN; and John Wesley Cunningham of Drummonds, TN; and three sisters: Jewel Boyd of Mountain Home, AR; Maxine Thompson's and Vivian Gallages, both of Denver, CO.
Funeral services have been scheduled at Murphy Funeral Home for Sunday at 2:00 PM with Huey Meherg officiating. Burial will follow at Garden Point Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Donald Barrett, Billy Nash, Rush Nash, Ernie Girdley, Boat Girdley and Joe Girdley.
Doug and Bob Rogers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
