Born of parents from Sweden in Chicago, the family lived in Meriden, Iowa, before moving to White City, KS where Amanda met her husband Fred Anderson who had emigrated from Sweden. She moved with her husband to Silver Lake, WA where they raised their family until she died in Portland in 1919. Some of her children remained in Washington but the younger ones moved to Kansas where they lived with their Dad, or Mother's relatives.
