Ardmore, OK —

Ardmore resident, Glen Franklin Coley, 66, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the local hospital. He was born July 25, 1943, in Lawton, Okla., to the late Alva Ross Coley and Alpha Smith Coley.

A graduate of Weaver High School in Frederick, Okla., Glen and the former Martha James were married Dec. 29, 1962, in Gainesville, Texas. For 45-plus years, Glen had been a dispatcher for concrete companies. He was first with Joe Brown Company for 40 years and the past 5½ years with Dolese. Glen had served in the Oklahoma National Guard.

Glen enjoyed the time he was able devote to hunting and fishing, and dearly loved being with his grandchildren and family.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Martha Coley of the home; his daughter and her husband, Tonya and Chris Penrod and grandsons, Cole and Case Penrod, all of Ardmore; sister, Bobbie Sue Prentice, Royce City, Texas; brother-in-law, Otis Ivey, Ardmore; nieces, Debbie Douthit, Ardmore, Nadine Watkins and her husband, Kelly, Dumas, Texas, Phyllis Stilwell, Lampasas, Texas; nephews, Ricky Prentice and wife, Mary, Royce City, Texas, Doug Tice, Amarillo, Texas, James Tice and his wife, Donna, Hereford, Texas; and his special cat, Nadine. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, A.P. and A.L. Coley; and sister, Wanda Tice.

Honorary bearers include Steve Higgs, David Parker, Eugene Earley, Simmon Johnson, Chris Wolfe, Ralph Scott and Richard Young.

Graveside rites will be today at 2 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Tim Jones.
