MARSHALL L. CORNS - LOWELL, IN

Marshall L. Corns age 78, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joan; three sons, Robert (Carol) Corns of Hebron, William (Teresa) Corns of Lowell, and Bryan (Carrie) Corns Sr. of Lowell; one daughter, Bonnie (David) Symons of Lowell; three step-sons, Daniel (Irene) Stanton of Houston, John (Julie) Stanton of Houston, and Terence (Sharon) Stanton of Bloomington; four step-daughters, Carolyn (Joseph) Mele of Crown Point, Janet (Andrew) Kelner of Portland, OR, Mary (Joel) Rudzinski of Schneider, and Diana (Vincent) Weber of Lowell; nine grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Vicktoria, Jason, Aaron, Bryan Jr., Jennifer, Nathan, Natalie; two brothers, Orville Corns of Lowell, and Edgar (Darlene) Corns of Lowell; two sisters, Mildred Holtz of Lowell, and Dele (Clay) Hatler of Noblesville; and numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by step-daughter Helen Paluch, brother Frank Corns, and sisters Alma Corns, and Lorene Cloninger.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 11:00 a.m., at the Sheets Funeral Home 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN. Pastor Charles Hochmuth officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Grove Cemetery in Lowell, IN. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Marshall was a member of the Lowell Church of Christ, retired from Inland Steel E.C., and belonged to the 25 Year Club at Inland Steel, a WWII Marine Veteran, member of Indianapolis 500 Old Timers' club, and the Lowell Historical Society. He was also responsible for bringing the #99 Ballanger car to the Lowell Labor Day parade, and was a mechanic on the car the year it won the 1951 Indy 500. Marshall was a dedicated family man.
