Oliver's obituary:
MONTPELIER- Oliver D. Stantz, 87, 525 Empire St., Montpelier, died at his residence Saturday evening, Jan. 25, 1986.
A retired painter, he was born near Melbern December 12, 1898, the son of Amanda (Zuber) and Alvin Stantz.
Surviving are his wife, Leona; three sons, Cleo of Bryan and Paul and Maurice, both of Montpelier;three daughters, Mrs. Viola Rummel of Hillsdale, Mich., Mrs. Leota Grubbs of Montgomery, Mich., and Mrs. Lois Clark of Montpelier; 20 grandchildren; 51 great- grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Ellis and Mrs. Arthur (Lola Bell) Brown, both of Montpelier.
Preceding him in death was a son, Walter Ray.
Services ar scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier, with the Rev. Robert Grosse of the Montpelier Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial is to be in West Buffalo Cemetary.
Friends may call in the funeral home after 2 p. m. today. Preferred memorials are to an institution of the donor's choice.
