Blanche G. Paslay, 89, of Brewster died Sunday, September 19, 1999, at Harmony House Health Care Center at Brewster.
She was born July 1, 1910, in Hermiston, Oregon, the daughter of Clyde and Etta (Curtis) Junkin and parented by her mother and beloved stepfather "Jimmy" Vaughan.
She married Clarence Paslay March 15, 1928, at Wenatchee. They made their home in the Brewster area where they farmed, raising cattle, hay and soft fruit in addition Blanche packed apples in season. She was a nurses aid in the Brewster Hospital when it first opened and worked as a cook at the hospital and the Bridgeport School. She was a member of the Brewster Grange.
After retiring she traveled in the United States and Canada but continued to make her home in Brewster.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Fenton and her husband Don of Brewster and Mildred Gerken and husband Larry of Moses Lake; a grandson, Lonnie Fenton of Brewster; a granddaughter, Peggy Dillon Medical Lake; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Grace Damian of Bridgeport and Jesse Sperry of Vancouver; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in March of 1977, her parents, a grandson Larry, a granddaughter Shannon and five brothers and seven sisters. She loved children and her great-grandchildren were a particular joy to her.
Services will be conducted Friday, September 24, 1999, at 11 am from the Barnes Chapel with Pastor Stan Beerman officiating. Committal services and interment to follow at the Brewster Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 1-8 at Barnes Chapel.
