Danny Boy Apples
He planted the first apple orchard in Brewster in 1910 and incorporarated it with the Gamble Lumber Company, which he established in 1894. In 1918, he built the first apple packing shed in Brewster. His daughter, Martha, continued on with the family business, later known as Gebbers Farms, which is ran by her only son, Dan. Dan was featured on the Danny Boy apple label in 1930. They planted some of Washington's first Granny Smith apple trees.
