“William Bell, aged 44 years, 2 months and 14 days, who had been ill at his home on Second Street for a year and a half with tuberculosis, passed away Wednesday night of last week at 9:45 o’clock.

Mr. Bell was born in Oxford on November 15, 1881, a son of Allen and Crilda Bell. He had lived in Attica for about twenty-five years. In 1910 he was married to Miss Fern Cashion, who passed away in 1910. To this union three children, Mrs. Myrtle Bennett, Mrs. Talma Bradbury of Attica, and Edward Bell of Fresno, California, were born.

He was married March 15, 1920, to Mrs. Ethel Barker, who survives. He is also survived by five children, Virginia, Billy, John D., Roseanna Lee, and Wayne Keith, all at home; two step-children, Mrs. Mavis Carney and Cossie Baker of Attica; one brother, Albert Bell, and three sisters, Mrs. Rachel Andrews, Mrs. Maggie Best and Mrs. Lydia Hamrick, all of Attica.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock at the United Brethren Church. Rev. J.B. Combs pastor of the church, officiating. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery, Attica. Coffing and Robinson, Attica undertakers, in charge.” – February 6, 1936
