George Tracy enlisted as a Private in Company K of the Fourth Michigan Volunteer Infantry on September 16, 1861, for 3 years service. He was on detached service with Company K of the First Michigan Infantry, by order, July 2, 1864, Petersburg, Virginia, and later discharged at the expiration of his term of service on September 12, 1864, at Weldon Rail Road, Virginia.
