Services for Charles Franklin Acy, 87, of Coila, who died of cancer Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at his home, will be at 2 p.m. today at Williams & Lord Funeral Home.

Mr. Acy was a retired gravel truck driver. A native and longtime resident of Black Hawk, he was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Evie Mae Acy of Coila; a son, Franklin Acy of Brandon; a stepson, Rickie L. Edwards of Lexington; three stepdaughters, Barbara Ann Myers of Winona, Ruthie Childs of Coila and Patsy Reeves of Dumas, Ark.; four brothers, Alvin Acy of Pearl and Thomas Acy, Freeman Acy and Marvin Acy, all of Coila; four sisters, Saline Prince of Jackson and Katherine Alford, Ila Shute and Nila Steen, all of Coila; two grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Keith Ramage will officiate at the services.

Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Carroll County.

Pallbearers will be Scott Acy, Mike Acy, Rickie Edwards, Dewayne Coward, Billy Carl Holeman and Gary Clay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Coward and Harvey Ellis.

Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
