Burl C. Giffin, age 92 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009, at his home. He was a longtime member of East Maryville Baptist Church and Carpenters Campground United Methodist Church, retired from ALCOA after 46 years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnette M. Giffin; daughter, Shirley Nelms; parents, Cary and Minnie Carpenter Giffin; sisters, Johnnie Lee Cochran and Jessie Payne; brothers, Clifford Giffin and Lee Giffin.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda Street and husband, John, Patty Giffin; son, Ronald Giffin; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank Girling Health Care and Dr. Kenneth Reese for their excellent care and concern.
Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Webster officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Carpenters Campground Cemetery for the interment service.
The family will receive friends from 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
