Obituary
CHILDS - Richard B died in Daviess co, Mo, 4 Oct 1870, in the 42nd year of his age. He was born in Jackson co, Mo. Married to Miss Pennelia Enyart of Daviess co, Mo, about 1852. He enlisted under the call of Gov. Jackson, in June 1866 and received a promotion to the office of Colonel. While leading his men on to mortal conflict, Oct 6th, 1868, his right breast was pierced with a leaden missile which resulted in his death. Bro Childs professed faith in Christ and joined the MECS, 9 Aug 1869. Pattonsburg Lodge, Mo, 65, interred his body with the usual Masonic honors. A copy of the resolutions were sent to the St Louis Christian Advocate, Gallatin Democrat and the North Missourian.
