Excerpt -- Mrs. Lydia Keener, one of the oldest and best know women in the lower end of the county, died Nov. 11, 1908, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Livonia Smith, of Dunkard Twp. She was in her 89th year, and had been in normal health until last week when she fell. She is survived by the following children: Joseph Maple of Randall, W.Va., Imri Maple of New York, Mrs. Lovonia
Smith of Dunkard Twp., and Herbert Keener, whose home is not known. Mrs. Keener had been married twice, her first husband's name was Maple, and her second being George Keener. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Maple, who came to this county from Germany almost a hundred years ago. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
