Cooper Review-Feb. 23, 1995-Alton Dee Tarrant of Cooper passed away Sat., Feb 18, at the Commerce Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2PM Monday at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Simmons officiating. Internment followed in the New Klondike Cemetery. Mr. Tarrant was born Feb. 28, 1919 in Hopkins County, the son of Ellis Gaylord and Myrtle Lee (Seals) Tarrant. He was a retired truck driver and bus driver. On Nov. 2, 1962, he married Oneida Gilbert. Survivors include his wife, Oneida Tarrant of Cooper; sons, Donnie Weldon Tarrant of Ft.Worth, Coy Edwin Tarrant and Burl Harrison Tarrant, both of Fairfield; daughter, Nancy Carole Coffey of Cleburne; a step-daughter, marrianna Janice Turner of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers, John Phillips of Cooper and Billy Dale Phillips of Jacksonville; sisters, Audrey Johnston of Temple, Irene Helm of Hanford, California and Faye Berry of Klondike; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Terry Phillips, Toyce Phillips, Lanny Dale Rainey, Jimmy Rainey, Jerry Winchester, Leroy Winchester and DeeDee Tarrant.
