Carol Marie Butzer, age 65, of Mankato, MN passed away August 10, 2009. Daughter of William and Helen Bruss,Carol was born October 21, 1943, in Mankato, MN.On December 28, 1963, Carol was united in marriage to Matthew Butzer. Carol was employed as a registered nurse at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital until her retirement at age 56. Carol loved the outdoors, enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, knitting, woodworking, crewelwork and bird-watching. She was especially happy spending time with her family, friends and her Cairn Terrier, Max.Carol is survived by daughters, Anne (Scott Spargo), Mara (Mike Hanson); son, Matthew (fiancé Tracy Olson); sisters, Paula (Al Enz), Linda (Jay Grow); brothers, Bill (Lois Bruss), Robert Bruss and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt; her parents and her brother, Mark.A memorial service is being planned for this fall.
