The parents at five o'clock Monday evening received a message from the war department at Washington, D. C., to the effect that their son had been killed in action in France on October 8, during the recent great drive of the American and allied troops which terminated so gloriously in the end of the war.
Private Deitzer was 29 years of age last April. On December 10, 1917, Third Division, and was sent to Camp Greene, South Carolina. On April 1. 1918, he accompanied his
regiment overseas and since then he saw much active service in the front line trenches, having gone over the top a number of times before the last final drive was made.
Memorial services for Private Deitzer
will be held at the Troy Christian church next Sunday at the regular hour for morning worship.
