Mary Lynn McConnell of Lansing passed away Sept. 5, 2009.

Lynn was born in Lansing to the late Richard L. McConnell and Ruth A. Halbert on March 6, 1935.

She was a graduate of Eastern High School Class of 1953 and worked most of her adult life as a waitress in the Condado Beach resort area of Puerto Rico. Her passions included writing, astrology and palmistry.

She was predeceased by her son Kurt C. Martens, Sr., in 1984.

Lynn is survived by her daughter, Janalynn (John Osborn) Martens of Grand Ledge; grandchildren, Kurt (Jr.), Crystal, Erik and Michael Martens, as well as Nicholas Osborn; 7 great-grandchildren; and special friend Jerry Lindemann.

A funeral service was held Sept. 11 at the Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with the Rev. Kent Lederer of Unity Church of Greater Lansing, officiating.

Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Services Sparrow Foundation - Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, Lansing, Michigan

Though her parents, Richard L. McConnell and Ruth A. Halbert, are buried on a shared grave marker, they were divorced.
