She was the first-born of twelve siblings and the last survivor.
On March 21, 1865 she united in marriage with William Kunkel; three children - two sons and one daughter came to bless this union.
On May 20, 1885 death entered the home and took away the husband and father.
Sister Minard remained a widow for more than sixteen years, then in November 9, 1899 she married Clenon Charles "C.C." Minard, who preceded her in death twenty-three years, dying September 1, 1912.
She was converted but when a child, in a service held in her father's house, he having opened his home for the use of the church - preaching services and prayer meeting being held in it until the building of Salem Church.
She united with the Evangelical Church eighty years ago, when only eight years old, and remained a faithful member of it until her death.
Her Christian experience and exceptionally clear and bright; her love for the Cause and the church of her choice, was the predominating trait of her whole life.
During her last few years she was continually, expectantly waiting "just outside the gate."
She is survived by her three children; George Emerson Kunkel, John Elmer Kunkel and Mrs. Alice Mae Kunkel Farst, all of this vicinity; also by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Here was a truly noble character; to know her was to love her, to talk to her was an inspiration, for it seemed like the introduction to grace and peace.
