Mrs. Rosemary Burghart Keefe, 83, of Blowing Rock, N.C., died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2004, of an extended illness at Chico Creek Care and Rehabilitation in Chico, Calif.
She was born Feb.16, 1921, in Evanston, Ill., to the late Charles and Mabel Burghart. She was a fixture on Main Street in Blowing Rock, working at the Back Porch from 1981-1996. She loved fashion, antiques, dogs and cats, jazz and swing music and talking to people. Mrs. Keefe was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her three children, Don Keefe of Lakewood, Calif., Charles Keefe of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dorrie Keefe of Chico, Calif.; her daughters-in-law, Susan Keefe of Blowing Rock and her granddaughter, Megan Keefe of Arlington, Va.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Keefe.
Services were held at Chico Creek and Rehabilitation on Friday, Nov. 12. There will be a celebration of her life at the home of Susan Keefe, 335 Laurel Park Rd., Blowing Rock, from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20. Friends of Rosemary and the family are invited to attend.
