The oldest child of the late Dora and Richard Holden. She is survived by brothers Eldredge and Kenneth Holden of Supply,NC and R. W. Holden of Kennedale, Texas, also sisters Nelva Brown and Shirley Simmons of Supply.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred Cumbee and daughters Berniece Barrett and Sylvia Johnson along with sons Barry,Bobby,Danny and Gary Cumbee.
Surviving are daughters Iris Jenkins and Joann Willetts and sons Ronald, Thurston and Wayne Cumbee plus 25 grandchildren,45 great grandchildren,and 23 great- great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7:00 till 9:00 PM Wed. Sept. 9 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Supply, NC and at other times at the home of Ronald Cumbee, 2399 Grabee Way NW, Shallotte, NC.
Funeral services will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Supply, NC on Thurs. Sept. 10 at 4:00 P.M. with the Rev. Richard Hicks and the Rev. Anthony Clemmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Riley Sellers-Fred Cumbee Cemetery, Turnpike, Rd. Supply, NC.
