MT. CRAWFORD — Mrs. Alberta (Bertie) Early, 88, of Mt. Crawford died Monday (Sept. 17, 1973) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wesley Rhodecap, Rt. 1, Mt. Crawford.
Mrs. Early was born Nov. 7, 1884 near Weyers Cave, a daughter of Frank and Bettie (Freed) Rubush.
On June 3, 1924, she married Robert A. Early, who died May 18.
Mrs. Early taught school in Rockingham and Augusta Counties 14 years. She was a member Of Melanchthon Lutheran Chapel, where she had taught Sunday school many years.
The only survivor is her daughter.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Melanchthon Lutheran Chapel by the Rev. Max C. Huddle and the Rev. Harold Skelton.
The body is at the Long Funeral Home, Rt. 1, Mt, Crawford, where the family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers ill be Russell Hartman, Harvey Showalter, Ralph Irvine, Lurty and William Craun, Edward and Walter Ettinger and Lawrence Fitzgerald.
