The funeral will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, in St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wytheville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, August 3, at Barnett Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wytheville's East End Cemetery.
Mrs. Armentrout was born near Ft. Chiswell on July 17, 1894 to James Andrew and Belle Loflin Danner. She was married for 48 years to William S. Armentrout, a Norfolk and Western Locomotive Engineer. Mr. Armentrout died shortly after retirement in 1960.
Bess and Bill Armentrout were the parents of six children, all of them living. They are, Frankye Armentrout of Wytheville, William V. (Jake) Armentrout of Decatur, Ala., Allene Collins of Abingdon, Olin Armentrout of Max Meadows, James Armentrout of Gray, Tenn., and Margaret Ann Carper of Colonial Heights; also the five spouses of her children; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Building Fund of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wytheville.
Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
