James was the adopted son of Milton and Caroline Grim Easom. According to a family story from a closer relative than me, James was kidnapped as a small child for ransom but not returned to his parents after they paid the money. He was given to Milton and told his parents had died. His birth name was Canaday. He married Nellie Wilson Dec. 28, 1891 in Crawford Co. KS. Thank-you.
