Elsie V. Lasiter, 92, of Granby, Mo., died at 6:03 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Freeman Neosho Hospital. Mrs. Lasiter was born on Feb. 11, 1917, to William Henry DePew and Etta Cordelia (Taylor) DePew in Cassville, Mo. Mrs. Lasiter was a lifelong resident of the Granby area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Granby United Methodist Church as well as being active in the Granby Senior Citizens. Elsie and Cleo Lasiter were married on March 13, 1935 in Cassville, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1990. She is survived by three children, Wanda West, Durham, Kan., Evelyn Maile, Neosho, Mo., and Jerry Lasiter, Granby; one brother, Harry DePew, Tulsa, Okla.; 19 Grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by two children, James Lasiter and Donna Hastings; one grandson, Scott Roberts; and one great-grandson, Brett Cushenbery. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, officiating will be Dr. Jerry Seigel. Burial will follow in the Granby Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Larry Roberts, Gene West Jr., Jason Tucker, Robert Maile, Chris Borshers, Chad Cushenbery, Jason West, Ian Allison and Kyle Allison. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, from 9 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. The family request that memorial contributions in memory of Elsie be made to the Granby United Methodist Church, in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 26, Granby, MO 64844.
