Mrs. Frank (Hope) Dunavan, 84, 823 Westwood Drive, died Saturday in Community Hospital of Ottawa.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gladfelter Chapel, with the Rev. Orrell Ruth officiating. Burial will be in the Precinct Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. today.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1896, in Brockton, Ill., to Will and Ada (Fisher) Hixton. She married Frank Duavan in October 1924. She was the executive secretary of the Red Cross.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a graduate of the University of Illinois. She was a member of the Susannah Weslley Circle, DAR, past regeant of the Illini Chapter of the DAR, charter member of the T.E.O., Eastern Star, White Shrine, Helia Club, Ottawa Boat Club, American Association of University Women and she was on the executive board of the American Red Cross. She was a Gray Lady.
Surviving are one son, Richard of Ottawa, and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dan Bernard, Charles Clifford, Howard Baker, Al Jensen, Bob Klubman, and Strawn Trumbo.
Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross or the Reddick Mansion (Ottawa, Ill.).
