Lieut. Farris was born in Grand Island, Neb., Feb. 19, 1923, a son of Ernest and Agnes H. Farris. They came to Ogden in 1936. He attended Ogden high school graduating In 1941. He was a member of the R. O. T. C. and the Camera club. He attended Weber college one year, and was employed at the Utah distribution depot.
On Oct. 27, 1942, he entered the army at Fort Douglas. He received a commission at Yale university, New Haven, Conn., June 16, 1943. He was graduated from the army air force intelligence, school, Harrisburg, Penn., Oct. 15, 1943.
In November, 1943, he was assigned to duty in Italy, where he was attached to the special 9th photographic wing, reconnaissance headquarters company.
Surviving are his mother of 2453 1/2 Grant: his father, of Los Angeles; a brother, Donald Farris, Ogden; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Hanson, Madison, S.D., and Mrs. Anna Farris, Los Angeles, and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Theresa Springguth, Grand Island. Neb.
