Many of our citizens were no little surprised Thursday morning, to learn that Mrs. Agnes Dice, wife of Mr. George Dice, grocery merchant, on East Main Street, this Borough, was dead. Mrs. Dice has been an invalid for some time past, but some weeks ago it was thought she was recovering, but on Wednesday her condition changed for the worst, and she commenced to sink, and death occurred Thursday morning, as above stated.
Mrs. Dice's maiden name was Thomson. She was a sister of Dr. A. A. Thomson, of Carlisle, and John Thomson, of Green Township, Franklin County. She was a member of the Reformed Church, and a lady of exemplary piety and an earnest Christian. She leaves a number of daughters and one son, several of whom are married. Her funeral will take place Saturday afternoon, at two o'clock.
