Raymond Logan, Sr.

Funeral services were held Monday for Raymond Davis Logan, Sr., who died Friday, March 22, in a Houston hospital.

He was born on May 31, 1922, in Gonzales county to T. O. and Iva M. Davis Logan of Gonzales county and Leesville, respectively. On April 10, 1948, he married Walter Lea Lincecum in San Antonio.

He is survived by his wife of Wrightsboro; daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Van Atchley, Sr. of Houston; son and daughter-in-law Butch and Reba Logan of Wrightsboro; grandchildren Ricky and J. D. Logan of Wrightsboro, Van Atchley, Jr. and Travis Ray Atchley of Houston; Christi and husband, Rick Wood of Austin. His great-grandchildren are Ricky, Robert and Amber Wood of Austin.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II.

Mr. Logan worked as an electrician for Reynolds Metal at Portland for 25 years and was a member of the Gonzales Masonic Lodge No. 30 AF&AM. He attended Del Mar College at Corpus Christi.

The Rev. George Schultz and the Rev. Brad Russell officiated at the services with interment at Wrightsboro cemetery under direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were J. C. Avant, David Laney, Johnny Graham, Dr. Gary Kappmeyer, Bill Gunn, Gary Keys, Robert Lindsey and Bobby Stamport. Honorary pallbearers were H. E. Berry, D. Bearden, Louis Decker and Raymond Arnold Todd.
