Elder Nolan Blaisdoll and Elder Smith, Mormon ministers on their two-year missions from Salt Lake City, Utah, came here from St. Louis to conduct the funeral for Mrs. Fouty, who had been active in the Church of the Latter Day Saints for 41 yars.
Mrs. Fouty, born at Ketron, Ill., on January 1 1872, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Story. She is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. C.C. Haney of Campbell and G.W. Schoonover of Bragg City. A sister, Mrs. Alice Huffman of Sikeston, several grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
The services differed somewhat from those ordinarily taking place in this section in as much as the two ministers used a Mormon Bible for scripture reading and no sermon or funeral oration was given. In its place Elder Smith read passages from his Bible and enlarged somewhat upon them.
The pallbearers were women, being Mdmes. Crum, Capp, McWaters, Sanders, Acors and Cole. Nieces of Mrs. Fouty acted as flower girls.
Interment was in Little Prairie cemetery.
