Mrs.Anna Stern, 64 of 1413 E.Grand Ave.,widow of Carl Stern,died at 11:30 pm Friday in St. Marys hospital. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Stern was born in E. Prussia,German, June 1, 1870.She came direcd to Decatur 45 years ago and has resided here ever since. She and Carl Stern were married in Decatur in 1893. Mr.Stern died about two years ago and a brother, Christopher Gevatoski died a few weeks ago. She was a life long member of St. Johannes Lutheran church and was known to most residents of the northeast part of the city.
She leaves the following children,Edward,Otto, John, Carl Jr and Mrs. Emma Kaminski,all of Decatur and Miss Martha Stern, Chicago. there is one grandchild, Shirley Lee Kaminski. Decatur.
The body was taken to the Moran & Sons funeral home and at 11 am Sunday will be taken to the home, 1413 E.Grand ave., where friends may call. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Monday in St. Johannes, Lutheran church.The burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.
